We're opening for service!

Starting Sunday, July 4, 2021, Lakewood Presbyterian Church will return to a regular, in-person worship service at 10:30 AM. Everyone is welcome to attend these services. Persons who have been fully vaccinated (i.e., received all shots and passed any waiting period) will not be required to wear a mask at the service and fellowship after worship. Unvaccinated persons will be required to wear a mask. There will be no live stream of services but a recording of the service will be posted by mid-day Monday on our website, Facebook, and YouTube.

This is a big step for Lakewood Presbyterian and we are happy that the pandemic status has improved enough to allow us to re-gather as the community we've come to love and cherish. Whether you are a long-time church member or someone who has recently found us here or on our Sunday live streams, we hope you will join us on July 4 and the following Sundays to experience our open, inclusive, and affirming community.

Who We Are

We are an open and welcoming community. Regardless of past church or religious affiliation, we are pleased to include everyone with a desire to join a sharing and giving community. Whether you are a newcomer to our area or a life-long resident, you will find someone among our diverse members who shares your interests.

Full Text of Session Vote to Fully Re-open Services

The following is the text of the motion that Session approved by email vote on Friday, June 25, 2021: Move that we resume Sunday worship services to be just in-person effective July 4, 2021. Live streaming of Sunday worship was initiated in early 2020 due to the inability of live church attendance because of COVID-19, but progress in recent weeks and months means we are no longer required to quarantine. In addition, a large majority of Lakewood Presbyterian Church members have been fully vaccinated and are at a much lower risk of infection. Going forward we will record each week’s service and make the video recordings available on our website (https://www.lakewoodpres.org), Facebook, and YouTube. In-person attendees who are not fully vaccinated will be required to wear masks. Vaccinated attendees will still be encouraged to follow CDC guidelines on mask wearing, hand washing, social distancing, etc. Refreshments during the fellowship time after worship will be provided and served in a manner that minimizes the risk of spreading infection. Session will review the status of this change and may modify these requirements in the future based on local, state, and federal guidelines and recommendations.
