Children

Children participate in "Children's Time" with Pastor Laura during worship

Children are a vital part of life at LPC! Our children’s ministry is growing and changing and we hope to expand what we are able to offer to children and families in the future. If you are bringing your children with you to worship, here is a bit of what to expect:

Children are always welcome to stay in the worship service with their parents. For older children, there are “busy bags” available in the back with coloring pages and activities to keep their hands busy during worship. Children and babies are not expected to stay silent! We don’t expect children to be statues and we know that children are going to make noise. That’s okay! Children typically stay in worship until the “Children’s Message”, where all the children are invited to the front of the sanctuary for a special time with Pastor Laura.

After children’s time, children typically go one of two places:

Ages 0-4: Nursery

Nursery care is available for babies and preschool aged children. We have a wonderful nursery staff that is fully trained to care for young children and teach a simple curriculum to our youngest worshippers. Most children stay with their parents in worship until Children’s Time, where they come forward for the message and then depart to the nursery. If it is your first time taking your child to the church nursery, please fill out a form so the staff has you and your child’s information.

Kindergarten-5th Grade: Sunday School

Children who are in elementary school attend a Sunday School class during worship, which currently meets in the Fellowship Hall. The class follows a simple curriculum and is led by volunteers.

On communion Sundays, children return to worship to partake in the sacrament together with the congregation. After worship, children are free to play in the Fellowship Hall during Coffee Hour or go out and play on our playground!

Playground featuring two wooden play structures, 4 slides, and several smaller play objects.
