Rev. Tom Paine was hired as out Transitional Pastor starting January 9, 2022. He comes to us after a long and rich career working with and leading military chaplains in locations ranging from Alaska to Antarctica and most recently with the Washington Air National Guard at Camp Murray. He has served as Pastor or Associate in Presbyterian churches in Metairie (LA), New Orleans, Fort Worth, and Haltom City(TX). He is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University and the Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
Among the comments that Tom shared with Session as we interviewed and visited with him was this: “Now that I am retired from the military, I hope to focus on helping churches in transition. Being someone who has transitioned many times, I feel this is a good fit for me at this time and am open to transitional ministry training.” He also said that he hopes “…to find a congregation that takes community health seriously, both spiritually and physically, and which is an open and welcoming community.”
